James Ma Takes the Stage for the First Time in The Wedding Fiasco

He is another very popular leading actor who has the opportunity to take part in a stage play for the first time with Scenario Company. For James Ma, in the stage play “The Wedding Fiasco” which is set to open on October 31, he revealed that he is giving his all to something he loves in a different form. Let’s hear from James himself on how he has been preparing.
“For my first stage play in life, it’s quite difficult and very challenging. From the first day I came to audition with P’Boy (Takonkiet Viravan) and the team, I was very nervous. Even though I have met P’Boy many times before when I came to watch plays, once I got the chance to perform myself, it was really exciting. A stage play is something I’ve always dreamed of doing at least once in my life. Once I got into it, I immediately felt that it’s a new world for me — another kind of art that I had never known before. I have been preparing and putting in a lot of effort — practicing and rehearsing as much as possible, learning every skill: singing, dancing, and acting. When we can do everything fluently and smoothly, we can convey our role more clearly and deeply when performing.
In this story, I play ‘Nop,’ a charming architect who is about to get married but ends up in a chaotic situation when his exes from the past suddenly appear to mess up the wedding. It might seem like a funny comedy role, but actually, it’s quite challenging for me because I have to play a flirty, playful man — which is quite difficult for me (laughs). But I have drawn some personality traits and experiences from many of my friends that I’ve seen and adapted them into the character. This story has everything — comedy, drama, and touching emotions. I’ve been talking a lot with P’Boy and P’A Santi, the stage director, about how I feel in each scene.
For those who have never seen me flirt, never seen me dance, never seen me sing — you’ll get to see all of that in this show. I promise to give it my best. I want the audience to be surprised and to have fun with “The Wedding Fiasco” It’s a stage play that was very popular before, and this time the script has been adjusted and new songs have been added to fit the modern era even more. I can guarantee that it will be even more fun and even more hilarious for sure. Just from the first script reading with all the cast and crew, everyone was already laughing out loud in the rehearsal room!”
Besides me, there are also many talented artists and actors joining this project, including P’Tong-Neng Rudklao, Kru Kit Kittinan, Pair Pitchapa, Toto Thanadet, Non Intanon, Jaja Daendaow, Nut Natcha, Aof Putthiphong, and Pru Phatcharee, my leading actress in this play. I have to say, she has a really beautiful singing voice.
So I would like to ask everyone to please support my first-ever stage play. Please come and watch it!”
“The Wedding Fiasco” will be performed from October 31 to November 23 at Muangthai Rachadalai Theatre. Tickets start from 800 Baht, available at Thai Ticket Major through all channels.
